SELMET associates researchers from CIRAD, INRA and Montpellier SupAgro. SELMET is in charge of developing projects for adapting Mediterranean and tropical farming systems to the current economic, environmental and social challenges. Several actions focuses on studying physiological and genetic components determining the intra-flock variability on feed efficiency and individual robustness on a spectrum of conditions. SELMET also produces methods and tools to explore and assess the impact of innovation process in livestock farming systems. SELMET researchers seek to identify the factors explaining the choices of agro-herders and the drivers of their decision in terms of livestock management and technical change.
